Doug's Surgery

Doug went in for his hip surgery last week. We have been planning and waiting for this day for a couple years. Once it was here we weren't sure we wanted it.

My mom flew in to take care of the kids while we headed to the University of Utah for surgery. Thanks MOM!!!

Pre-op...love the cap:)

To Dorked up to enjoy visitors the first couple days, but I enjoyed having some awake company. Todd, Chad and Natalie came the first day. Mike, Eric and Jan came the next. Kelli and Emma came the day before we left.

Doug's leg in a CPM, it moves his leg for him. Ouch!!!

This is day 2 the second time up. That is as far as he made it and was heading back to bed. Unable to lift his leg he pushed it along or crawled it with his toes.

For the ride home, I set up a mattress in the back of the van and drove like a mad woman to get home ASAP. At home the recovery is going well. With walks around the back yard and even a trip to church today to teach his lesson. I'm glad it is going as well as it is.

Red Rock Relay

Marquessa called one week before the Red Rock Relay and asked if I would be willing to fill in for someone who was unable to participate. I thought "Why not?" Well one good reason was that I had not run since the middle of August, but I figured I could start back that day. I am so glad I was able to participate. I seriously can't wait to do it again. Our team ran for about 30 hours going a total of 180 miles from Brain head to Zions National park.
I ran "Top of the World" 2.9 miles Medium in 28 min.
"Runner of the Corn" 4 miles Hard in 40 min.
"Rock U Like a Hurricane" 5.1 miles Meduim in 45 min.

Jaxon's 9th top secret mission

For Jaxon's Birthday we went on a top secret mission. We learned how to break codes, dress in disguises, had Spy training with Agent Doug, went on a mission to find the treats and swam. Jax is my most creative boy, who loves to pretend he is a spy.

Catching up

My dear friend Patsy was able to come out the beginning of August for the BYU sports camp and then to hangout for a couple days before her brothers wedding. I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we had. It was a uplift in so many ways. Doug stayed with me in a cabin in Sundance for the week of sports camp and then he headed back to work. Marquessa was able to come and we stayed at my parents home for a week. Together we had 16-18 kids at all times and 5 adults in the house. Crazy fun. I miss you Patsy:(

Here we are at the Treehouse museum in Ogden. Patsy's brother Kevin came with his son as well as Ashton.

BYU Sports camp.

Playing at the cabin in Sundance, Rafting and playing in the Provo river.

Hiking Cascade Springs. Patsy and I choose twinner outfits accidentally. I love it!!

Doug and Kinzie hike Mt. Timpanogos.

I ran my first 1/2 Marathon Patsy.
2 hour and 11 minutes.

Quick trip to the Grand Canyon. We caught it right as the sun was setting. So gorgeous!!!

We meet Grandma and Grandpa White in Flagstaff for a quick weekend before school started. Ping pong, Pool, Four wheeling and hanging out. So much fun.

For Liam's 4th birthday September 1st, we had an Alien party. He saw these cupcakes months ago and wanted a birthday party based on them. He is such a fun, little man.
